“May you rest in the space of “good enough.” You are good. You are enough.

You are sufficient in this moment, just as you are. You deserve goodness and kindness and hope and help.  This is my wish for you.” ~ Nanea Hoffman

It’s a new month and a new theme! We are talking about Creating a Soft Landing. Now, I use this phrase all the time - in my life, in my practice, and on the show. So, I wanted to take the month to really expound on what that means and also to put some meaning to the phrase, so you can be conscious of it in your life.

Are you an empathetic person, or do you find yourself struggling to empathize with others? Today, in the final week of Anna's Why Women Rock Series, she talks about why some women are masters of empathy, yet other women really battle with it, perhaps due to judgment or criticism. Listen in to find out more.

Anna is a great supporter of Brene Brown's work. She loves her ability to talk about vulnerability, shame and empathy and about how to rise above your story. Today, Anna uses Brene's definition of empathy, from her book Daring Greatly, as a foundation for her show. In the book, Brene describes empathy as not being about connecting with the experience, but about connecting with the emotion underneath the experience. Listen in today and find about how you can thrive with empathy.

If you want to find out why women make such amazing leaders, you're going to love today's show, with Anna's guest, Pam Drzewiecki, a Business and Life Coach for professional women and female entrepreneurs.

The short and sweet of it:

Today, Pam and Anna discuss, amongst other things,  the 'cringe factor' that happens to a lot of women when they think about being a leader - we all know that women leaders tend to be more highly criticized than their male counterparts. Listen in today and find out what it actually means for women to own their power by being a feminine leader.

Pam has been on her journey since starting her business career in the Insurance Industry as a pool secretary in 1987. She moved through the ranks to become the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Marketing for one of the most successful Wealth Management Advisers in the company, who had over a billion dollars of insurance in force and ranked in the top forty in the history of the company.

Even with all of this, Pam felt a calling to do more and so she started her own company, Powerful Purpose, to create a business where women were nurtured and had a place to build both their professional and their personal dreams. Listen in and find out more about why women rock, and Pam's amazing way of connecting with women leaders.

The short and sweet of it:

During the month of April, we are talking about why women rock! Women often forget that so much of what they do on a daily basis is extraordinary! We think it’s just our job or part of our duties and rarely do we acknowledge how amazing we are. Often, we fall into the comparison trap and actually criticize our own inadequacy. Today we are talking about how women are amazing because they are fearless.

Being fearless doesn’t mean that you aren’t afraid. Being fearless means that you feel fear and yet march forward in the face of fear. Women walk through the fear to get to the other side and they do it day after day so they can show up for everyone in their lives. The ripple effect this creates is utterly incalculable.

Fear is not a closed door. It’s not the end for women. We see it. We feel it and yet we march forward anyway.

When she was just seven years old, her family moved to Alaska, where they lived in a commune for three years.

Kasey, who has subsequently gone through many, many changes in her life, mentions that in her travels, she's always sought out her 'group of weirdo's'- people that she can relate to and that can uplift her. Change is uncomfortable, yet unavoidable in life. Listen in today and find out what's going to make you better, through the change.

Are you really living your passion and doing what you love? Or do you find yourself pushing through and trying to bulldoze your way past exhaustion? On today's show, Anna talks about giving yourself permission to slow down and live a life that you really love.

The last movie for Anna's Movie Month is Sing. Today, she shares that what really stood out for her in the movie.  She talks about the characters who don't initially recognize their gifts and talents and how they eventually have to stand on the stage, own their passion and sing from their souls. She relates this to how many people limit their experiences in life, due to fear. Listen in today as Anna encourages you to turn away from fear, do what you love and love what you're doing.

Do you find that you're always doing everything for others and nothing for yourself? Or are you afraid to confide in other women, lest they judge you for it? Then join Anna today and find the courage to speak out and create a new conversation and a new connection and learn to support one another as women, regardless of who you are, what you do or wherever you may be.

Today's show was inspired by the movie Bad Moms. Although the movie is a comedy, Anna became moved to tears while watching it, because of the way it points to how women tend to push themselves to be everything for everyone else, leaving nothing for themselves.

If this is universally true and there's enough content to make a movie out of it, Anna asks why women are so isolated by it. She would like to know why women can't approach one another in an open, honest way and talk about their fears, shortcomings and where they feel they're screwing up. She also talks about the messages that women get, that if they're not meeting a “Stepford” example, they're bad. Listen in today, as Anna encourages you, as women, to realize that you're all in the same experience and that it's up to you to make the change.

Are you feeling saddened or discouraged by what's going on in America and in the world today? Do you feel like there is so much darkness in people's words and actions right now? If this is so for you, listen in to today's show and take heart, as Anna encourages you, in the words of Cyndi Lauper, to show your true colors and step into your power.

Today Anna looks at how easily we can lose sight of the fact that we can make a difference by simply being true to ourselves. In this month of movie inspired podcasts, Anna talks about Trolls, a fun movie with a deeper message. She explains why it comes back to Cyndi Lauper's powerful song, True Colors and why the lyrics of the song bring tears to her eyes. Today, Anna urges you to keep making a difference in the world around you, in spite of toxic or hurtful messages you may have received, by simply being true to your authentic self.

Are you ready to talk about politics, with things being so crazy politically and socially, today? Or are you too afraid to open the discussion, just in case it starts an argument? For a way in on this topic, join Anna, as she makes herself vulnerable and questions the way she's dealt with politics in the past. On today's show, she talks about how she's decided to change that, through taking action.

As a child, Anna never had a chance to have political conversations with her family, as that was deemed to be impolite. As a result, she grew up believing that if she did talk about politics, a fight would break out, feelings would get hurt, or chaos would somehow ensue. So, she stayed silent, thinking that would be best. Today, however, she has realized that by going on with business as usual and not tying into what's going on currently in the world around her, she would be letting her fear hold her back.

Listen in today, as Anna talks about how you too, can step beyond your anxiety and become aware of and take responsibility for your situation and become the heroine of your own story.

The short and sweet of it!

Today we are continuing our monthly theme of wellness, with special guest Lisa Crilley, LMFT. Lisa’s work focuses on body image and eating disorders and she works in private practice. Lisa knows how our minds and our doubts can mislead us into believing things about ourselves that are not true!

Let’s take the word balance out of the equation because balance doesn’t truly exist. Wellness is about taking care of yourself, and because your needs vary, wellness is a fluid state of taking care of yourself, listening to yourself and even accepting yourself.

What we want for ourselves can be completely misaligned with our emotional needs. There is no one thing you can fix about yourself that will make you accept yourself if you don’t already practice acceptance.

Do you struggle to attain balance in your daily life, or sometimes think that it's just not worth the effort to keep trying? If this is you, join Anna on today's episode, as she shares the first six items on her top ten list of why she firmly believes that Balance is Bullshit.

Anna Osborn, wife, mother of twins, business owner and licensed psychotherapist explains why she thinks that balance can be a huge barrier to the idea of wellness. She gives her take on how balance can lead to self-destruction, due to BS expectations. She believes that we will end up being stuck in a place of disconnection from our spirit, soul, heart and head and no wellness can be achieved through striving for balance.
